Fishing in Sooke

Fishing lodge experience a stone's throw from Victoria

Ryan Chamberland fishes the oceans and tidal pools near Sooke nearly 160 days a year, both for himself and with clients who come to the small community near Victoria, B.C. in search of wild experiences.  Fishing in Sooke is a true coastal British Columbia fishing experience.

In Sooke, located on the west side of Vancouver Island just above Victoria, it’s possible to catch chinook salmon within 10 minutes of leaving the dock. As well, there are whales to watch and halibut to pursue, all in a quiet ocean cove that feels like you are “away from everything.”

“That’s the experience I like to provide for my guests,” he says.

The quality of the fishing is something that guests will never forget.

“I never get tired of it. When the rod goes off, the heart gets pumping. It’s amazing.”
